Cost and Mailing List

Parents and Students,

Cost:

Finally we are able to give a projected cost. We are working to keep the figure between 40,000 and 50,000 NT. We've had to change our schedule a bit to keep the cost down.

Within a week or two we'll post a more detailed itenerary as well as a more solid figure for the cost.

Mailing List:

For those parents who have sent in letters of intent I have started a mailing list. This list includes all of the student emails as well as a few of the parents. Please send your business card, or email address, if you wish to be included in these emails that I will continue to send out.

Deadlines:

Please remember the January 31 deadline for deposits. It is very important that deposits are made by this date since we need to reserve our airfare. Without a reservation on airfare it is difficult to finalize the cost.

Please email me with any questions.

Come Build a Well in India

Humanitarian mission trip

Welcome

We're glad you are thinking about going to India. If you’ve always wanted to make a big difference in someone’s world but didn’t know how to do it, here’s your chance! Below you'll find a bit of information on this trip including the rough cost and a rough itenerary. Please do check back often and you might even subscribe to this blog so you can be emailed when we make a new announcement.

Our Mission:

Our mission (and it’s not impossible!) is to provide a steady water resource to a little village in northeastern India. We will be doing this by building a reservoir that will supply water to the boarding school as well as to the neighboring households. The boarding school has about 100 students, ages ranging from 6 to 14. Most of them come from dirt-poor families and have never had an exposure to anything besides what they see and know in the village. Many of these kids will probably look at you open-mouthed and in awe. J We will be interacting with these kids both in and out of the classroom. While there are things that you will be able to teach them, I’m sure that at the end of the trip, there are things they would have taught you as well.

But if you think that the trip to India is going to be all hard work and no fun, you’re mistaken! Besides living in a place where you don’t need to take showers (so all you people who don’t like showers, INDIA is the place you want to go to), you’ll get to visit the famous Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort. You’ll also be able to experience first-hand the joys of Indian bargaining when we go shopping in New Delhi. And hey, if you like Indian food, you can’t get more authentic than Indian food in India!!!

Here’s the itinerary:

April 19 (Thursday): Taipei - New Delhi

April 20 (Friday): New Delhi – Imphal (via Kolkota)

April 20 (Friday): Imphal – New Hoomi (by road)

April 29 (Sunday): Imphal – New Delhi (via Kolkota) (there’s only ONE flight on Sunday)

April 30 (Monday): Agra

April 31 (Tuesday): New Delhi – Taipei
